Windows Operating System Deployment Methods and the Dynamic Data Center Tookit

I came across a really good white paper over the holidays based around the different methods available for deploying Microsoft Operating Systems using Microsoft Technologies.

The white paper covers topics such as:

  • Dynamic Data Center Toolkit
  • WIM Formats
  • Microsoft WAIK
  • WIM2VHD
  • Windows Deployment Services (WDS)
  • Microsoft Deployment Toolkit 2010 (MDT)
  • DISM
  • SCCM 2007 R2
If you ever wondered what deployment process would be best for your organisation or client, or just want to be aware of all the different options available as some basic walk-throughs on what is needed to get an O/S deployed, then download this document and read through it.

The URL below contains links to both the source code and installers for the DDC Toolkit and also the 'Operating System Imaging with Windows Server 2008 R2' white paper.
