Without them, you could run into problems with any backup application that makes use of VSS (which is just about them all!).

Deploying DPM 2012 SP1 will certainly contain all cumulative DPM updates prior to SP1 but won't contain the host KB fixes.

Hope this helps!

Kevin.Kevin Greenehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09485844569754734795noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7933921225798654920.post-71840831408908014552013-08-01T20:42:28.440+01:002013-08-01T20:42:28.440+01:00Kevin. I am in the process of preparing to upgrade my DPM 2010 server to DPM 2012 SP1. Looks like it the DPM2012 ISO contains its own installation of SQL 2008 R2, which it installs if you upgrade (and transfers the DPM database over). Now that I'm done with the upgrade I'm debating if it's safe to un-install the old MSDPM2010 sql instance (and sql 2008 itself). That Guyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09551776656905846479noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7933921225798654920.post-54094683700035341132012-09-13T12:02:56.840+01:002012-09-13T12:02:56.840+01:00Hi Kevin,
