I found that link after I quest...I'm not sure. I found that link after I questioned this. It isn't in the SCOM upgrade doco - but seems like a general recommendation for all of System Center 2012... I sent a note to the product team asking.... but I see it as a wasted step personally, and I am not sure the PG understand the impact of time here. If it isn't required, I wouldn't do it.
